An Update.

Things have been busy. I’m not getting to see much of home at the mo, due to one thing and another.

Went to a District GSL’s meeting Tuesday, where I had an interesting encounter with Stuart, the District Explorer Commissioner. If you’re not up on my situation with currently I have taken a break from the running of Explorer meetings and I have a new assistant, James, who is filling in for me on a week to week basis, much as what would happen if I was suddenly called away on work for a couple of weeks, only for a longer period. Anyway Stuart appears to have been looking at the staffing of the district and is trying to persuade me to move units to one with fewer leaders.

Nicola and I have just celebrated 5 years together. Well celebrated is probably wrong, we’ve noticed we’ve been together that long is probably more appropriate, as we haven’t had time to celebrate. I’m helping out Nicola with her Guides, as her assistant has gone home for the summer. Nicola is also busy doing climbing activities with the local team, and looking to do more work at the local campsite (and I think I’m going to volunteer myself for the sake of seeing her more!)

An old friend from SSAGO is up at the west Yorkshire playhouse working on "Bat Boy". Hoping to get out for a drink with him, but may forgo it for a quiet evening.

Does that make you "an occasional Guide helper" like Tom is "an occasional Brownie Helper" (whose name escaped my county comm after he helped at our recent county activity day). Hopefully you're nicer than Tom and don't make blue knicker comments!

No I'm more like an external skills instructor- saves on the paperwork.

No I'm more like an external skills instructor- less paperwork that way.
