My Music

Been meaning to do this for days. I don't have that extensive a music CD collection, mainly because of buying spoken word CDs and driving cars with tape players. So when I get those music memes I find it easier to list what I do have, rather than what I don't.

So here goes.

I may have forgotten a couple, but that's most of them. I added links to the CDs on Amazon I could find.

You can see my early 90s obsession with Queen there can't you. My latest purchace was Muse in Virgin, because of their "Feeling Good" cover.

Any hints on how to develop my musical tastes, use the usual methods of communication.

How about S&M by Metallica? A rather good album for those not wanting full on Metallica (my sister didn't realise it was Metallica when I had in on in the car ... but then she thought they were much more heavy than they are when I played the full on version!).
I'm rather fond of Barenaked Ladies myself of which Gordon is a mighty fine album (if only for the $1million song), or I guess Stunt which would have more UK friendly songs.
Hmm what do I borrow from Dr T's selection ... I think it mainly Garbage (Garbage for the track 'I'm only happy when it rains' ... good for testing car stereos!) along with the odd St Etienne moment (the album with the ice cream stripes on... I think its the singles one).
....Oh why can't I remember what we've had in the car lately....

Muse are excellent, the latest album Absolution is FANTASTIC. Madness The Business is really great especailly "don't quote me on that" from the first CD. I have a Saw Doctors tape and they are wonderful, very mellow and a nice story about Irish Life. Are you wishing to expand your CD collection Si? And if so are you looking for contempary pop music or any pop music?

I saw Muse a few years back .. the main thing I remember is that it was loud despite sitting on the balcony at the back of Soton Guildhall (with all the other old people), the giggly teenagers ('ooh I've got my fake ID to try and get alcohol') were on the floor ... mind you they were entertainment whilst we queued to get in. On of my best mates will approve of your choice as they were in the year above him at school, probably the only major thing to happen in Teignmouth (pronouced tinmuth) for years!
Best Live ..so far BNL, Def Leppard weren't bad either ... but shall I go and see Erasure in March?

If you would like Si, I could make you a complimation MP3 CD of things that "should" be in a record collection? I do it for Hugh (his CD collection is even smaller than yours and less varied). I will have access over christmas to Eric and Malcolms music collections (my hard drive is going to become very full...)
