Scouting urban myths

Earlier tonight I had someone swear blind to me that one of the most common Scouting urban myths was true. 'British bulldog is banned' is up there with 'you must be wearing uniform to be insured'
Apparently it had come from his DC. I will write a list of urban myths when I get home.

In Liverpool Bitish Bull Dog was banned thanks to one of our scouts splitting his head open on a radiator!

That was either your leaders decision or a local rule.

We had a thing a while back that a DC banned 'I'm a little baby bumble bee' song (highly favoured, with found a peanut by 2ndP)as she thought the Brownies would actually squish bumble bees and lick them up as in the song!

As for bulldog, we play a form of it but not the bundle/ scrum version we played at school, more tag bulldog (a la tag rugby). Still the same name, just a bit safer so they're happy! We're just a bit cautious of ladders after a previous Brownie ended up in casualty with a broken arm after a game (before my time, and the parents let her younger sister join us ... and she's just moved up to guides!).
