New Year Break
Well I have a bit of a set-back. On 30th I slipped on a piece of ice on a fairly flat path and damaged my ankle. I'm now at my parents house in Manchester rather than at work.
I must say my friends were very impressive rallying around, setting up an emergency shelter and getting in the mountain rescue. Who were also very impressive it seemed like a swarm of them. I was confident all the way to the ambulance I was in safe hands. I have been judged a fool for nottaking my entinox but it really didn't seem to be doing very much.
My leg will be out of action for 10 weeks- I have a pin holding my ankle in place so the tendons can recover.
So thanks again to Keswick Mountain rescue, and to Raff (who stayed with me for several hours) Rob B, Mark, Frosty, Andy, Curly, Rosie, Elanor and Dave for all their help and support, and everyone for their good wishes. I will be fine I'm sure.

You'll be pleased to hear we did a toast to you and your recovery at the New Year Eve's Dinner (the things people do to get out of speeches ;)) ... and of course our new bestest friends, Keswick Mountain Rescue.
Hmm not sure if you've been informed that the 'tea' shop that the rest fo the party found themselves had a MRT who'd rescused a Simon that afternoon ... it wasn't until a bit later they found out it was a different Simon & they were Patterdale MRT. Oh and by the way we've realised you should never go near a Dodd (or come to that a mountain) with Rob B in your party (he's now been present at 3 injuries on mountains to BUSAG people).
Glad to hear you've made it to your parents and that you are linked to the outside world. Hope that you are not too uncomfortable - take care,
Rachel
Good to hear you're back at home, Si (even if it's not your own).
Hiya Si -heard about your accident -I guess with all the walking you do something had to happen one day. Had friends with me in scotland from the mountain rescue so it all got very confusing as they'd heard about a rescue the same day! anyway, relax, watch lots of Dr Who and keep us posted on your recovery xx
Hi Simon
Glad you got back to your parents. Hope you make a good recovery and don't get too bored.
Rosie
Hi Simon,
